The Global ARC promotes a Community Youth Development (CYD) approach to the process of helping youth successfully transition into adulthood. CYD incorporates the best principles of positive youth development along with the best principle of community development. This approach facilitates young people gaining the skills, knowledge and abilities necessary to become a healthy, happy, productive and contributing adults, while also working in partnership with adults to improve the current quality of life within their respective communities.

The Global ARC youth focused projects develop opportunities for youth to gain the skills, knowledge and abilities they need to make a successful transition into adulthood, becoming a healthy, happy, productive and contributing adult. The projects also provide supports that allow the youth to take full advantage of the opportunities that are provided. The projects further connects the youth to necessary services that will address their basic needs (food, clothing, shelter, health, education, etc.)
