ALEUP hosted the 2nd World Planning Schools Congress in Mexico City, 2006. ALEUP was founded in 1999 at the 1st Congress of Latin American Planning Education held in Caracas, Venezuela hosted by Simon Bolivar University.Originally founded by planning schools established in Argentina, Mexico and Venezuela there are new planning schools that are applying for membership. ALEUP is a nonprofit multi-national networking organization for Spanish speaking countries in Latin America that are working together to improve planning education and expand planning knowledge throughout Latin American.Go to the ALEUP website.

The National Association of Graduate Programmes and Research in Urban and Regional Planning - ANPUR, congregates Brazilian Graduate Programmes and Research Centres envolved in teaching and/or researching in the field of urban and regional planning. It is an open and pluridisciplinary Association, whose aims are: to stimulate the studies, teaching and research in this field of knowledge; to make information and the exchange of experiences available among planners and researchers; to promote scientific meetings for the diffusion of information between its associates and also between fellow Brazilian and foreign Associations.
