Join UCSD researchers, community gardeners, farmers, planners and others who are working together to improve food systems for environmental and public health. Professor Robert Gottlieb, Director of the Urban & Environmental Policy Institute at Occidental College (a social-change oriented institute focused on achieving a just, livable and democratic society) will set the stage for the Forum’s Roundtable and Public Dialogue by introducing the concept of Food Justice. Help transform where, what, and how our food is grown, produced, transported, accessed and eaten on the path to a healthier and more just society.
The Forum is part of UCSD’s Green Open House and 50th Anniversary celebration and is being organized by the Global Action Research Center (The Global ARC), in partnership with UCSD’s Sustainability Solutions Institute, Urban Studies and Planning Program, Superfund Research Program, and The Center on Global Justice.
