The Journey of the Global ARC 2010 started in Vancouver, Canada and ended in Tijuana, Mexico (spanning three countries and roughly 1800 miles). We explored watersheds, foodsheds, and energy systems along the West Coast of North America by bicycle with a biodiesel support vehicle and film crew. The Journey was designed to draws attention to, document and archive a range of community-based solutions (urban and rural projects focused on water, food and energy/transportation) as part of our larger effort to inspire sustainability science and action research while bridging sustainability solutions worldwide (aka, connecting the dots).
We held a successful closing celebration on the UC San Diego Campus, as noted below:
